Credentials

For a career, I first have been working as a university lecturer and subsequently spent the last twenty-two years as a public servant, and as part-time academic. Having taken early retirement from the City of Cape Town, South Africa, I am now allowed to act as an impartial mediator supporting parties in dispute to solve their differences out of court, both in South Africa as well as in Namibia via Mediation Namibia, and in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia where I am accredited with the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration.

I started my academic career with a BA degree in humanities and political science at the University of Stellenbosch, located in close proximity to Cape Town. I added an honors and a master's degree in environmental science (Geography) and later followed these up with B Tech and M Tech degrees in Business Administration at the University of South Africa. I then completed a PhD in Business Administration (focusing on Management of Technology) at the Business School of the University of Stellenbosch, and I am now enrolled for a BA LLB degree in law, again through the University of South Africa. I also received training as initiator and chairperson for disciplinary hearings in the workplace and completed a formal mediation course accredited by the University of Cape Town, and subsequently registered as a member of the mediation panel at Mediation in Motion Mediators, a recommendable non-profit organization for which I subsequently was elected to serve as company secretary.

Apart from an active profile on LinkedIn, I have been speaking on conference podiums, publishing formally, serving as member of the senate of the tertiary institution Concept Interactive, remaining active as part-time academic and guest lecturer for the subject field of Technology Ventures at the Namibian University of Science and Technology, and also maintaining a close association with the legal fraternity and specifically with on-line law firm Virtual Lawyers.
